"Heather" by Irene Fawkes

The cover of the 2006 Yearbook of the Heather Society, reproduced by kind permission of its editor Dr Charles Nelson, features a beautiful design by the artist Irene Fawkes, originally produced as an advertising poster for the London Underground.
  Irene Fawkes (1886-1977) was the daughter of Frank Attfield Fawkes and grand-daughter of Harriet Attfield.
