William Akersten (1825-1905)

William Akersten was the brother-in-law of Elizabeth Martha Cawood, daughter of William Cawood and Elizabeth Attfield (1799-1846). An early pioneer in New Zealand, William Akersten's name is perpetuated in "Akersten Street" and other place names in and around Nelson, South Island.
