The grave of my wife's parents, Louise and Kurt Wolfgang van der Walde, lies in the Geschwister-Scholl-Stiftung Field of Honour in Ohlsdorf Cemetery, Hamburg, Germany. The field is dedicated as a last resting place for victims of Nazi oppression. It is tended by the Geschwister-Scholl-Stiftung, founded in memory of the brother and sister Hans and Sophie Scholl, executed in 1943, who were members of the White Rose resistance movement in Nazi Germany.
